Planning tool for agile teams

Better planning
through more clarity.

Successful projects need planning. And planning needs clarity. Betterplan reduces the effort required to create and maintain overview in your planning — so you always know where you stand and what comes next.

The problem

Clarity lives in your head. Keeping it is hard work.

Clarity is the prerequisite for planning and active action. It matters to start at all — and later to stay on track and not lose sight of the goal.

But clarity is not only hard to create, it's much harder to keep. Information is spread out, constantly changing, and quickly stale. So you gather, update, synchronize. Again and again.

That's exhausting, often monotonous, and requires a discipline that almost nobody can sustain in day-to-day work. The system is working against you, not for you.

Clarity gets lost, bit by bit.

The consequence

  • You can no longer prioritize clearly.
  • You don't know where you stand.
  • You can't say when you'll be done.

Instead of shaping, you're only managing.

A plan is no guarantee for success.
But no plan guarantees failure.

Why Betterplan exists

I kept seeing the same pattern.

I come from software development, one of the most complex environments for projects. Over many years I've supported projects in different contexts, teams, and industries — as a developer, product owner, and agile coach. But always the same picture:

Teams lose momentum, then motivation, and finally trust. That costs time and money. One reason: the first plan that gave clarity and direction grows stale — and stops being updated because keeping the overview becomes too laborious.

From my experience, successful projects rest on good planning that continuously adapts to reality. That requires continuous overview.

Planning fails when clarity is lost.

I want to make it as easy as possible to keep that overview.

That's why Betterplan exists.

The solution

Betterplan makes it easy to keep the overview.

Clarity emerges when the right information comes together and is presented appropriately for the task at hand. That's the idea behind Betterplan:

Everything in one place, every view a tool.

Goals, tasks, progress — it all lives together. Each view is tailored to a specific task and lets you work in it directly. A change updates all views automatically.

Structured workflow.

Betterplan is built on a proven practice and helps you follow it. With the matching views along that practice, you can fully concentrate on turning clarity into a good plan and executing it.

Less time managing. More time shaping.

The tools

The right tool for every task. Everything stays connected.

Scope

Create structure.

On the Story Map, you organize goals, themes, and tasks visually and show how they relate.

Prepare

Prepare for execution.

Using a Backlog as a Kanban board, you refine, evaluate, and prioritize tasks and let them mature for execution.

Build

Execute transparently.

On the Iteration Board, you focus on execution: break tasks into work items, work on them together, and make progress visible.

Insight

Keep the overview.

The Delivery Timeline shows you in a Gantt view where you stand, what's next, and how long it takes.

How it compares

Why existing tools don't reduce the effort.

Whiteboards like Miro

are great for structuring thoughts and sketching the big picture. But they lack the connection to the tasks that emerge from them. You have to create and maintain that connection yourself.

Ticket systems like Jira

are strong at managing tasks, but not particularly good at structuring them or connecting them with a clear thread. You have to keep that in your head.

Spreadsheets like Excel

are often used to evaluate cost, duration, and progress. But the data has to be manually prepared and exported. What happens if I move or drop a task? No immediate answer.

Betterplan

combines structure, task management, and analytics in one system. Because everything is connected, the overview stays intact — without the effort of creating it yourself. You focus on your plan, not on your tool.
